Featuring Paintings by Jack Lewis
Jack Lewis is an artist whose vision incorporates the constant and the ever-changing world around him with passion, compassion and delight. Jack Lewis, the artist, provides us with a private visual history of people and places both around us and beyond. It is possible to be educated in painting techniques, but artistic vision is a gift. A trust artist is born with the ability to see with his heart -- not simply a time spent painting but a totality in the artist being. Everything seen, heard, felt to dreamt adds a delicate layer of quality to the artist's life. This quality is then translated to the visual experience.
Jack Lewis, artist, author, teacher and more, is a unique individual. Jack enriches our lives by allowing us to enjoy his work. Paintings in this Retrospective range from the earliest work with the Civilian Conservation Crops, through book illustrations, Scottish and Italian Landscapes, to paintings of daily comings and goings in Dover, Delaware. It is with great pleasure that the Raubacher Gallery brings this Jack Lewes Retrospective to the Dover Community and your community with special thanks to Jack Lewis and Dorothy Lewis. |
